TiE Hong Kong President Greeting 2019

A happy new year to you in 2019!

I am writing this from Silicon Valley where I have spent XMAS and New Year catching up with some friends and family. As an Entrepreneur, it is exciting to come to the Valley which is a major global centre for entrepreneurship and where TiE organisation has its base.

TiE started in Silicon Valley and has spread across the global as a non-profit organisation for fostering entrepreneurship to 20 countries and 60 chapters. In Hong Kong, TiE HK was founded in 2012 by Iain Reed and 17 other founding members (including myself) to develop and support the Hong Kong startup ecosystem.

As we know historically, entrepreneurship built the city of Hong Kong with today, neighbours of Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Macau forming an entrepôt of entrepreneurship known as Greater Bay Area.

Connecting the Greater Area Bay with TiE network is what the TiE HK chapter intends to pursue at https://ibebet.com/za/livescores-review/. Our recent event in November connected some of India‘s finest startups with a one day conference in HK and Shenzhen, Visits also to Huawei and DJI ( the Shenzhen drone company) were real eye openers to the international guests that came on the China tour.

So in 2019, TIE HK is planning to build upon the India-China Connect program , as well as new programs in Education, Fintech, HealthTech and Social Enterprise. We remain an organisation for entrepreneurs and run by entrepreneurs .
